We know there have been stability issues with the HR20 and there have been several threads about features of the HR10 that people wished the HR20 would have, , dual live buffers, true 30 sec. skip, auto correction, suggestions, auto-record of wishlists, e.g. up until a few weeks ago, ATSC tuning. Of course there are still ATSC issues being worked out.

Still there are features which the HR20 adds which the HR10 didn't Which are favorite features of the HR20 that the HR10 doesn't have.

Caller-ID
E-sata drive substitution
PC Music & Photos Feature (Networking)
Recording Conflict Resolution (or did the HR10 fix that with 6.3a?)
Reception & recording of mpeg-4 HD locals and RSN

I would add PQ and menu/guide speed but there not as much features as improvements.

The only reason I decided to go with this box, is because I was told that the Tivo box would be useless for HD by the end of 2007. So MPEG4 locals it is for me. Once I get my DLB's, I will be satisfied with this box.

Love the idea of the Favorite Features Poll

I too have wondered what existing features do users like best.

I think that since you are asking which are most important, you intended for us to be able to vote for any or all of these. That is an option in setting up the poll.

I like the items you gave. There have been several threads on this and a number of other features given. I think some of these may be popular new features as well:

+ Quicker Response - no more of TiVo's "Please Wait"
+ Hard Drive Usage Meter (%) - show's space remaining
+ All outputs are available at the same time
+ Built-In RF Remote Option

I do not have an HR10 so I cannot confirm that these are new to the HR20.

permanent slip feature (that isn't a hidden easter egg)
default recording settings for padding and retention
record then "pay when play" per view
FTM support
the people here at dbstalk (ok, so we'd be part of the Hr10 experience too, I suppose...)
both OTA tuners active even if only 1 sat. tuner is active

I like the fact that I can go to the guide while watching a recorded program.. My Dish receiver did this for years..

The faster response time, RF, and all outputs live are all features that I appreciate over my HR10's..

Thanks for the suggestions. I forgot about the RF remote, capacity meter, simulateous a/v outputs. I'll try to edit it if possible.

If I could vote twice (hey, I'm from Chicago - that's what we do ) I'd add a vote for Picture-in-list. I got the box for the HD locals, but the PIL has turned out to be a really nice feature I didn't even know about.

Perhaps I shouldn't mention this. I am sorry if this jinxes you. I have seen black screen of impending death/unwatchable/etc. give me a black PIL. Can't remember if I had sound or not.

In the short time I have had it I have a few. Being able to watch television while basically doing anything you need to do on the box, including browsing the full guide, looking at your saved programs, doing configuration and setup issues and the rest.

One touch recording is awesome.

I have not done anything with the Esata interface but I will, and having done a lot of Tivo hard-drive upgrades over the years, I will appreciate not having to take this one apart.
