·which DTV HD channel will have the Olympics opening ceremony?
(live, not delayed)
(live, not delayed)
NBC. Won't be live. If you live near the Canadian border and get any of their channels, you might see it live. Other than that, it'll be 12 hours after.quietmouse said:which DTV HD channel will have the Olympics opening ceremony?

Yep and no doubt edited as well to get a few more fluff pieces in like some gymnast whose aunt got run over by a hay wagon or some synchronised swimmer with a cousin (twice removed) who stutters and how that drove them to be the best darned synchronised swimmer they could be.techdimwit said:NBC. Lucky you!! We get CBC from Windsor, and they don't have HD as yet.levibluewa said:CBCHD, 4am Pacific Time, Live!

NBC Olympics is nothing without them wonderful sob sob stories.![]()
Probably not. Opening and closing credits usually are very highly rated, so they'd want it on their OTA stations.myselfalso said:Will NBC show it live at all on any network?

Yes, there will be live coverage of many events, but not of the opening ceremony, which is what this thread is about.seanb61 said:NBC will have live coverage:
Taunting us, are you?levibluewa said:Live opening ceremonies are on now, CBCHD. Beautiful, although having a bit of a signal loss issue.
Woops, my bad.Drew2k said:Yes, there will be live coverage of many events, but not of the opening ceremony, which is what this thread is about.![]()
Or if they do, hopefully their voices will be properly centered, so we can just disconnect the center channel and still hear the music. Actually, MY biggest problem with NBC's past Olympic coverage has been bad macro-blocking. Even OTA, it always looks bad. Do we need to start a collection for some better encoders?levibluewa said:I just hope NBC doesn't mess it up with Bob Costas or some motormouth that thinks he's/she's more important than what they're showing.
...except if you live in the Pacific Time Zone, where ALL of NBC's OTA programming will be shown on a three hour delay, which just sucks.seanb61 said:
