I thought I would pass on a funny story. Last week, after a disastrous week of recordings, I swapped the HR10 for the HR20 in our master bedroom and put the HR20 out where I don't use it as much. I figured I would rely on the HR10 until the HR20 would become more stable.

Since I made the switch 7 days ago, the HR20 has not messed up a single recording... all have been playable. That's across both SD and HD channels.

Meanwhile... back at the HR10 ranch, it's having problems with Season Pass recordings as described over at TCF.

You just can't win!

I've said it in other posts, my gut tells me that the problems with the SD Directivos, HR10s, and HR20s are all related. Possibly corrupt guide data in the stream, possibly a deliberate change being made in the architecture which D* decided to take on during the time between shows going into repeats and playoffs starting [meaning they're late in finishing].

FWIW, my SD Directivo (R10) did a perfect imitation of the Black Screen Bug yesterday.

If I'm right, then the problem will subside when the architecture or guide problems are resolved.

Perhaps it's a more fundamental problem like, say, being a Duke fan.
