I just had an HR22-100 installed. The installer left me with an HR21 (?!?!?!) manual and an RC23 (?!?!?!) remote that has dead batteries. Since he never brought the shipping container into the house, I now have the feeling that I was ripped off.

What remote control is shipped with the HR22?

I also had a slimline dish installed on a pole. I asked the installer to leave the mount and mast that came in the box with the dish since it was part of my order, but he said that he could not do that.

Is this acceptable?


In short, what should I have expected to get with this HR22 and slimline?

You should be able to find your answer about the remotehere.
Sounds like you got a bad overall install. I would call DTV and let them know. Make sure they document all the problems you have. Good luck.

I had looked through that thread. A couple people mentioned RC64R, but I did not see a definitive declaration to this effect. You are correct that I will be callling D*, but I am doing a little background research first......

To confirm it for you, most people received the RC64R, which I learned was an IR and RF capable remote w/o backlit keys.

Installer brought two HR-22s in sealed boxes, which I opened and placed while he worked on the dish. Both came with RC64R controllers. The batteries were not installed, but shrink wrapped. You have a legitimate gripe.

2 of my neighbors had R22's installed Fri, same installer said the RC64R was additional cost of 34.95 and the HDMI cable was 50 bucks. And both was in the boxes and he took them with him. SO they both are using the old remotes from the previous receivers, and had to use their own HDMI cables.

Your neighbors were definitely ripped off. I would report the installer to the HFC and the entire incident to D*. VIA: return receipt mail.

As far as the remotes are concerned, when it comes to R22, the installer was right, the R22 comes with rc64 IR only remote. A RF remote costs extra.
