Who do I contact at Directv about wrong OTA channel information? Tribune has it correct but Directv had updated to the new info when our local PBS did some testing. Now they are back to the old channel set up and it's been over 2 months and Directv still hasn't updated to the proper channel information.

Not sure who to contact if Tribune has it correct.

I do think that if D* is not going to provide scanning on the HR2x series that they should have a procedure (call and telling a CSR is NOT a procedure) in place to address missing OTA info.

I called and was brought to a higher and higher level of support until they finally said "we will send out a email about the issue and have somebody contact you".:nono:

The entire time I was telling them "I know you can't fix this and I've already went threw all the trouble shooting you can do. I just want to find a way to let the people know who handles the guide software for the OTA information. That my local market has a incorrect listing and I can't get my local PBS OTA now. I'm also sure it's the same for anybody else in my market." Hopefully the email he sent out details the issue and works it's way threw the internets.;)

Posting here is a good start. I know a lot of very influential people read this forum, so if you detail your problems in the issues thread for your receiver, it will get somewhere.

I would try the pbs station directly. I work for one and if your direct tv guide is wrong, i bet their is a guide wrong somewhere else. Bring it to the pbs station. I'm sure you will find someone there that will be willing to follow up with it. We had a similar guide issue. I was able to find the right people and it was fixed within 24 hours.

Well in that case, I'll mention here (and in the issues thread) that on my HR20, tuning to (Los Angeles) OTA channel 56-1 gives me the programming from 56-3, so I essentially have two 56-3s and no 56-1.

Maybe. I just think there needs to be at least a dedicated thead on OTA channel issues so that all the info is in one place. That way those who do read and can act on it don't have to go looking for it.

Started a dedicated thead: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?p=1694544#post1694544

Mods please move if you think there is a better place for it. Maybe make a sticky?

To get a channel problem fixed here I had to actually contact the tv station itself for it seemed that nobody else got in a big hurry and I tried for a couple of months to get it fixed and got nowhere.

I contacted the local station and it was corrected the next day so that seems to be the best approach if possible.

One tip I picked up, is that if you can find another market that has the channel you want, to can add a second OTA market to the AM21... This trick has been used to add channels that the AM21 does not know about, but should...

I hope that applies in this situation... It did not apply to me, so it only sunk in a little.

Well the "right" people must have gotten the word because 2 hours after my phone call they fixed the issue. I wish I had made the call a month ago instead of being patient lol. Now who do I call about not getting those D11 channels yet???:p
