Does anyone have any benchmark data on DECA coax based ethernet performance?

The question is - how does it compare to a Gigabit Ethernet? To a 100 mbs Ethernet?

Has anyone actually seen a rating? Or throughput tests?

I ask this since I am having performance issues with streaming of high res photos and videos from my PC to the HR34.

While I haven't run any performance tests, since the receivers and the DECAs have 100 Mbs ports, they won't compare to Gigabit.
The actual DECA performance is in the range of 170 Mbs.

All right, thank you.

If I understand correctly, DECA performance, that is the adapter is at 170 mbs.

Can I assume that the COAX would operate at no less than 170 mbs? I understand, by the way, that as usual actual throughput is degraded by protocol, handshaking, etc. But as a rated carrier the coax would perform at least as well as the DECA itself?
When I "assume" it bites me in the....
Bit rates are relative to Phy Mesh rates, which can vary so "no less than" would be better stated as "no more than".
A good setup/system will report Phy Mesh rates in the 250+ range.

Since DirecTV forced me to go DECA instead of using my home network (that was working just fine in the beta) for whole home I am now curious.

If I were to run both DECA Ethernet ports through an Ethernet switch on each end, and then connect the receivers to that same switch, could I piggyback off of it for regular Ethernet connectivity?

Obviously this could have a performance impact on video streaming, but there also wouldn't be any streaming at the same time that I would use the Ethernet.

It's not clear [to me] what you're asking, but maybe this is it [which is unsupported but works]:

How did they force you to go to DECA?
I wish they'd force me to go DECA. Without cost.

Yes you can use the DECA as an ethernet bridge. I am sure it is not supported but I used it to gain access to my LAN in a remote room via COAX before I ran CAT5 lines there.
