I had my HR20 hooked up to my wifi by an Iogear Ethernet adapter. Moved HR20 to bedroom and got an HR24 today. After the whole home system was hooked up the Internet would work but whole home wouldn't. After the Ethernet cable was unplugged the whole home worked. Customer service said that the Iogear would no longer work - that I would need their connection kit. Is that correct?

yes it sounds like you need the CCK, which bridges the coax networking to your home network for internet access.
