Your Directv people are so jealous of us Dish subs. When Dish won this award you morons were always saying "what a worthless award" and "JD Power doesn't count because Echostar pays them off", now you idiots think it is a big deal. But I am glad you guys have something to be excited about since you are stuck with an inferior DBS service. But don't worry, soon Charlie will take over your service so you won't have to suffer much longer. Enjoy!
Dosent this award go out to the highest bidder? :D

Deleted post. I'm not going to feed the trolls.
It is funny though, I had the exact same thoughts when I read about the award going to DTV.
I remember all that "Charlie bought that worthless award" posts a couple of years ago. For those that think it's a good thing for DirecTV, congratulations. Two years for Dish and so far one for DirecTV.

For those that think it's bought... I guess it means that DirecTV is wasting more money it doens't have. :)

See ya

...if Directv is such a loser, why is E* banking their entire future on obtaining it? :)
In all fairness E* did come in a pretty close second (E* scored 111 compared to D* 113, the closest cable op scored 102). Here's the article with the scores:

DBS, DirecTV Top Power Survey

I thought this statement in the article was interesting...
And the average price of cable per month is more than $3 below the average DBS monthly charge -- $47.08 vs. $50.71.
It sure isn't $3 less here!
Pretty much statistically insignificant, as it has been in the past. What this means is that both DBS companies appear fairly well run for the consumer, and both are much better than any cable company. Speaks well for both of them, even though it is fun to point out the comments of the past. :D
Well there are probably a lot of customers (like me) that just do basic cable. This drives the average down. I have a $9/month cable bill and a $70/month Dish bill. To get the same programming on my cable was $108/month before I switched a couple years ago.

There are a lot of people that subscribe to basic cable, or small packages. More sat customers go premium because it is affordable.
What does being a winner of a JD Power award actually mean? To me personally I don't give a crap who gets this award in any category, I know this award means something to the companies but it has never influenced me or made me look at a company any different.
[sarcasm mode ON]
Doesn't Dish Network OWN DirecTV anyway? So Dish Network still gets the award !!
[sarcasm mode OFF]
This reminds me of the track race America and the Russians held years ago. the national pride of both countries was at stake.

The American won.

In Izvestia(?) the next day, the headlines proudly proclaimed: Russia come in second, America came in next to last!
the power award should be called the "lesser of two evils" award....
