Why do they think my receiver is leased?

Well, after activating my 722 last night that I purchased from Dishstore.net something today just told me to call and make sure they hadn't signed me up for anything that would put me in a contract. Well, the lady was nice and said it didn't list me as being in a contract and that I had a leased 722 and I don't know if she named the 501. I stopped her right there and said I didn't have a leased 722 that I own it. She asked if I bought it from a retailer and I said yes. In attempt to fix this she had to talk to a supervisor. Finally she came back and said she would make a note on my account but that it may take 1-2weeks to have them correct it to show that I own it. WTF shouldn't they be able to change it instantly? This lady told me to keep my receipt so I basically just printed off the page from Dishstore.net in my account saying I ordered one and it shipped. Will this be good enough or should I call and ask dishstore about getting a receipt?

Why do they list it as leased? Will it really take that long to change or should I call back and talk to someone else? Am I going to have problems down the road from this? I just don't get why it would say it's leased since I clearly bought it. Has this happened to anyone else?

I can't say I've ever heard of it happening, though I'd guess it has. Just like with any other large corporation, during the entry process, somewhere along the line, someone probably keyed in leased instead of owned.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, nor do I see how it can cause any future issues, given the CSR confirmed you're not under contract.
If you're really concerned, I'd suggest you ask Dishstore to email you a receipt, and then draft a brief, and polite email to [email protected], including a copy of your receipt, asking to have it changed to leased.
I'd also suggest you not bother delving into "why" it happened, just simply ask to have it corrected.
The reason it bugs me is if I cancel my service I don't want to have to give them my receiver I paid $400 for. That's just not something I want to do. That's why I don't want them to have it listed a lease.

Let's see. You purchased something and presumably have both a receipt and also proof of payment and you are ready to off the deep end because someone's records suggest that you don't own it - and they promised to investigate?

Lighten up. You'll win. lol
I called Claude and we had a 3 way call with Dish. He had to fax stuff in but I think it got taken care of as I called Dish tonight and they said it was listed as I owned it. I can't say enough good about Claude at Dishstore.net I give him a huge thumbs up.
