I'd say the simplest answer is updates are staggered so any issues don't swamp the call centers. 58e is in a rollout stage, so if things go well, you'll see it in time.

Thought I'd post here in the shorter thread.

Just wondering this same thing.
My HR24 got 59e early last week, but the HR23 is still on 57b.
Not really a big deal for me as the HR23 is a server for my HR24.

Now that I've posted this, it will probably update tonight.

I have an HR23 and it was running the 0x57b software and I have been patiently waiting for the 0x59e software. I check my machine each morning.

Holy Moley I got new software today, version 0x59 f .
I have surfed around on it and there are some obvious changes from the 57b software.
1. The progress bar is now NOT covering so much of the screen.
2. The Remote seems to be working better.
3. The HDTV section is now included in the Display section of the menu.

To me this is one reason NOT to force a download. They are constantly working on it and you will probably get a better, more bug free, version if you wait until they want you to have it.

You can never "force" something they don't want you to have.
You also may not be able to force the latest version.
I'm not sure everyone should be trying to force an update, but at the same time, I don't see/agree with your reasoning. It won't stop your receiver from receiving a newer version.

"In context", it read [to me] don't force a download or you may not get the newer version.

59f downloaded today.

My HR23 also got 59f today. A day later than I thought.

I'm curious as to why the 59e was bypassed for 59f?
Was it because 59e caused problems on HR23s?
