Why is there no HR34 advertising?

hello, ALL i see all day is advertising for "the hopper", i am just curious why
there is no advertising for the HR-34 as I believe it is the most radical thing in t.v. there is today. Seriously, I have never seen one thing about the HR-34 I learned about it thru these forums. I did ask my installer about it yesterday and he said he felt directv did not have the supply and they did not want new customers calling for the HR34 and being told they had to wait, as this could hurt new customer relations, he said all (directv tech's) are not allowed to get
an HR34, until a future date. I don't know if this is right or not, but what do you think?

Yeah, I think there is still a bit of a supply issue with the HR34. That's why you can't order them online in all areas from the DirecTV website, why they limit them to one per account, etc.
And I think it's best to wait until the 34 is on the same feature set as the other boxes. We're still behind.
dpeters, pardon my ignorance but I don't know what you mean by "on the same feature set as our other boxes"?? does this have something to do with multiple recievers or something. I am just curious, thanks

No, the current nationally released firmware for the HR34 is behind those of the HR2X models in features.

For instance, no access to YouTube, Pandora, and the HR34 does not have some of the recent improvements to the HD-GUI the HR2X models have.

Not to mention bug fixes as well.
Hard to know why DIRECTV does anything, but I will say that DISH didn't make such a big splash with their 922, so maybe they thought they needed a little higher profile.
