According to the Daily Oklahoman there will be a new FOX Sports Oklahoma that will carry the local NBA Thunder broadcasts, replacing FOX Sports Southwest Mavericks broadcasts in a 75-mile radius around Oklahoma City.

Anyone have any info as to whether or not DirecTV will carry the new channel and when it might start?

It will probably start out as a game only channel with an HD feed. FSSW will probably remain your full time RSN.

The news article pretty much says it all with respect to when. The DIRECTV part may depend on what other content FSOK makes available (if any).

Guy if you take the look at the article, it sound like it going to be a full pledge channel.

This fall, FS Oklahoma also will begin airing Oklahoma high school state championships as part of a three-year contract with Oklahoma Secondary School Activity Association. The network will air up to 16 live broadcasts and 10 tape-delayed broadcasts of state championship games.

FS Oklahoma is developing local programming, including college and Olympic sports events and local coaches shows. It will also feature original programming and specials, such as "In My Own Words," "Under the Lights" and "Spotlight," highlighting local athletes, coaches, and teams. FS Oklahoma will become the 17th regional sports network in the Fox Sports Networks family.

Dang, looks like they are going to make it part of FOX Sports SW.
According to today's Daily Oklahoman the channel will be 676 on DirecTV, which is FSSW (or 37 on Cox Cable which is also FSSW).
So we'll just get Thunder instead of Mavericks games. No actual new channel, at least not yet.

According to the Thunder web site Wednesday's game is on KSBI 52-1, the local OKC station that is showing the games that FOX doesn't. Don't know if you guys get it out there (is it Miami where you're located?).

Also on WWLS radio if you can get that.

Just because they will have some original programming does not mean it will be full time on Directv. FSKC is a game only channel on Directv, but if your get FSKC on cable it has some original programming such as In My Own Words that I can not get on Directv. Hope that you get it full time, but do not bet on it.

My guess would be it will fall under FSSW.
If so it makes it a busy little RSN

676 - Primary National, Regional (All of the below at times plus Big 12 College)
677 - Dallas Specific Alternatives (Mavericks, Stars, Rangers) When not on 676
678 - Houston Specific ( Rockets, Astros)
679(?) - OKC specific alternatives (Thunderl)

Nope I'm in Poteau (I think you are thinking of joshjr on here....he's from Miami).

I just hope to know what channel to turn to when it is on! I get WWLS (or the feed from Tulsa to be specific), so at least I can hear it. :)

Yep, those of us out of the OKC market loose the first two games right off the bat. I am hoping league pass picks up the games, as of righr now, they are not.

Edit: I take that back. The search for games via the HR20 was concerning. But the schedule via Direct Tv's LP schedule is more up to date.

Per FOX Sports in Houston FSN-Oklahoma will be available as a 24/7 channel in SD & game only in HD. Because of short notice and with it part of FSSW some carriers will have FOX tune their FSSW feeds to the Thunder games or use FSSW-Alt if available. Regardless when the Thunder are on the Mavericks games within a 75 mile radius of Oklahoma City & Tulsa will be blacked out, no matter if you watch it on cable or satellite.

Shouldn't be a problem for DirecTv, they already have all of the FSSW feeds available. FOX has full control of the satellite receivers, on SD they all use the standard 24/7 feed until gametime, then FOX tunes it to the correct game for that market. The Thunder in HD is now a part of the FOX HD pool of feeds, and again FOX will tune the receiver at gametime to either FSSWHD or FSSWHD-Alt. depending on the carrier and their channel lineup.

What about the San Antonio sub feed? I think they get priority on 677 or 679
