I know I missed the opportunity a couple of weeks ago to see if I can clear the trees in my backyard, but will direct tv come out and look for me before I am a customer? Thanks!

When you order the service, you are not a customer yet. that happens when, after the installer surveys the site, and you both agree on the installation proceedures. Then you call in, activate all the options you want, and then the installer gives the rep on the phone all the receiver info.

So go ahead and order service, the installer will have to see if there is any way to install when he gets out there. If you really want to make sure you have service, you may want to be open to a pole mount (extra cost up front)
My pole mount cost me nothing, and my installer says it is normal procedure in my area.

Different installers have different policies and blanket statements are liable to be proved false.
