When E* goes to MPEG4, will I be able to get all of the HD stations via 61.5? When they swapped my 942 for the 622, my line-of-sight to 129 was blocked, so they installed a Dish 500 for me so I could get HD via 61.5. At the time it was the simplest thing to do, because I didn’t want to install a 15’ pole to accommodate 129. My neighbor had his HD installed last week and complained about how they were installing his dish. When he referenced them to my setup, they told him I’m not getting all of the HD channels from 61.5, which isn’t the case because I am getting them. This made me think about the future and whether my current setup will get me all of the channels in MPEG4 via 61.5. Thanks.

61.5 carries all of the national HD's now. There has been no info to state other wise. It will have to be kept running due to the fact that 129 is too low for most of the E coast to use. So you may be better off with the 61.5 bird. I live in the center of the country and get my HD off 61.5. I have 4 sats going into my DPP44 61.5, 110, 119, & 148. The 148 is for my LIL. The installers were just telling your friend that cause it was easier for them to stick up the D1000 than to put in 2 dishes. You shouldn't worry now that there will be any problems w/ 61.5 for a long time. Most of the programming on 129 that isn't on 61.5 are regional nets.

The only thing that you might now be getting (or might not get in the future) is Local HD channels. They are only on 61.5, 129 (or in the future it appears some will be on 118.5). Since your location is not listed we cannot tell you if your locals are currently on E* or if they are expected soon.
