I have a Spaun SBK 5500 NF that then feeds two SMK 5561 F, I know this is probably a question I should ask spaun directly but thought I would get a quicker response here.

Thanks

I can't find these exact models on the Spaun website (probably discontinued), but I suspect that they won't work with the lower Ka-band (which won't be used until next year). Both Spaun and Zinwell have compatible multiswitches with up to 16 outputs.

Any stackable options out there yet? My install is
-Dish on the backside of detached garage.
-Amp into 6 porter in Garage to feed two dual tuners in garge.
-Then 4 coax underground to 6 porter in thehouse to feed house recievers.

Not that I've seen yet for the 5-LNB Ka/Ku band dishes.

Wouldnt this accomplish the same thing as my stacked setup now?

I have 4 RG'6's between buildings.

It seems like it would but I'm afraid I'm missing something obvious.

That link appears to be broken, but I don't think Sonora (or anyone else) has a stacked solution for Ka band. Directv's frequency translation module should work once it becomes available (next year?)

A cascaded installation (which I think is what you now have) should work with Ka-band compatible multiswitches. The Zinwell WB68 isn't a powered multiswitch and cascading it isn't recommended (it MAY work and has for some folks). The Zinwell WB616 or the new Spaun 12 or 16-port multiswitches are powered and can be cascaded. These aren't cheap, but neither is stacking. The FTM doesn't sound like an inexpensive approach either.

Ok, I need to revisit this, I'm adding a third receiver to the house so I need more outputs in the house.

Refresher course on my setup.

Detached garage-- 5LNB dish into WB68 -- Four RG6 Runs to the house. I need to keep the switch in the garage to feed the two TV's in there.

Right not I'm fine with two HR20's in the house, but I need to add a third.

In the past I had a stackable switch that allowed me to run another 8 port multiswitch in the house fed via the 4 RG'6s. I see sonora has what I THINK will work but I'm confused.

I need help!

Thanks

It sound like the easiest thing would be to add two more coax runs to the house.
Cascading multi-switches has been done, but it is more desirable to split the dish feeds and run both multi-switches in parallel.

Add power-passing splitters between the dish and multiswitch. Connect the 4 existing coaxes to the other ports of the splitters, feeding another multiswitch in the house (feeding the same port of each multiswitch from each splitter).

I would suggest researching the SWMs from DirecTV. If all of the receivers inside the house are HR20s, an SWM8 may be just the ticket.

The Sonora stackers that I've seen don't have the necessary bandwidth on the inputs to support the 5LNB behemoths.

bobneilsen, thanks, looks like a cheap option, I already have a second WB68, directv gave me.

I REALLY don't want another dish on the house, and I can't pull more cable, because between the coax's and the CAT5's the conduit is packed.

Everything is working properly using the VZ4F's, except I seem to have dropped a lot of signal in the house. Its about 200 feet from the dish and the splitters, is there a compatible amp I can get? Everything is perfect in the garage, which is the building the dish is on. So I think my issues are signal loss related.

Thanks

This should give you an idea of what to get: http://www.sonorastore.com/amplifiers.html

veryoldschool, I'm an idiot, any chance you can tell me which model to get?

Thanks
I know you're not an idiot. I may be one, but that's another story.
So you have four cables that you need to be boosted.
The cheapest looks to be using two LA142a which are driven by the receivers. [more load on them].
Next would be those that are powered like the NA2530Da-T or the TA2330Da-T
I would contact Sonora to see what they recommend. Two of the cheap ones might be all you need.
