Hi

I'm getting the HR34 installed, as soon as I get an appointment set. I have a slingbox solo and want to know if I will be able to use a seperate tuner for the slingbox or will it use the tuner that my main TV is using? If so that won't help me.

Main TV. Slingbox just uses outputs and no directv dvr can do more than one output.

No, it will not use a separate tuner. The slingbox will broadcast whatever is seen on the main tv.

exactly, if your wife is watching TV at home, she would not be very happy when you change the channel when you are away.....

That depends. How are you wanting to use your slingbox? I don't think you said.

If in house, the C31 would replace it. but would require wiring.

If in or outside the house, you can put it on your system and tie the slingbox to it so it makes another output. Of course, you can do that with a receiver or another dvr as well.

I have my slingbox on my bedroom dvr which I don't watch as often but it has access to all programs in the house.

That website is this website, just a different forum.

The C31 is a client of the HR34. With your slingbox attached to the C31 you have access to one live tuner and all the recordings on the HR34. Something you cant do with the slingbox by itself. It wont disrupt anything anyone else is doing unless they get greedy.
