I have an appointment scheduled to get the 5 LNB slimline dish installed, but wonder if I go to Costco and buy a HD DVR on my own could I install it and use it with my existing round dish (to record SD, obviously).
I just looked at sat setup, and the round 18" dish is still one of the options. Do setup for that now, then when you get the new dish go back through sat setup and pick the correct dish.
I still have the round dish, and have 3 HR2x units hooked up and working (obviously SD only). I just haven't had the opportunity to upgrade the dish and the multiswitches hooked up to it...
