I'm curious if you all think this location would work for a pole mount install? I plan on being at this location, for probably less than a year so I'm not wanting to put the new dish on the roof like the old one. If this location will work it should make for a simple install, being I'm only having one TV connected.

When looking at the trees I was thinking of having them put it to the left. Or if possible when looking at the 2nd pic have them put it in the brown area where the grass has died off. The fourth picture down was taken standing in front of the trees.

If you need pics from other angles let me know.

Would I need to acquire the pole & have it pre-set before the installer came?

Thanks for the help,

How far from the trees to the house (4th picture)? If that distance is at least 25 feet, then there should not be a problem. Just do not mount the dish where it will be overhung by the trees.

I would set the pole and run coax prior to the install.

If you really want a pole make sure to have at least a few things ready before the tech comes out. Things like shovel, axe. Wouldn't be a bad idea to purchase a few bags of quick setting concrete and if you can the pole too [2" outside diameter, about 10' long] This will reduce the risk of the tech not having the proper materials.
Be prepared to pay since a pole mount with LOS elsewhere is a charge item.

thanks guys. from those large pines to the side of the house is around 45FT walking it off.

I've got a set of diggers, shovel, 500ft of coax, and about 200lbs of quick setting concrete ready to go. I'm willing to do all the work with getting the hole dug, & poured to help out if that will make a difference. I just need the installer to mount the dish, and to help me get the signals maxed out.

As per the coax it just needs to be ran to the side of the house, as we just had new coax ran all over the house, and he can join into the connection on the side of the house. Gray boxes in the 4th pic. They are already grounded.

I'm imagining it should be a pretty easy install for the guy, I was just curious if that local would work.

I tried using dish pointer but I can't make heads or tails out of it.

Should be fine on the roof, save yourself trouble, the only question is the elevation in your area and installer will know the answer. You have enough overhand to mount the dish without drilling through the living space.

Nice home by the way.

you think it would be possible to use the plate mount that is holding the current dish?
