Complain to Viacom. DirecTV wanted to keep the channel up.

According to this article, you won't see them on DirecTV, and you won't see them streaming online either:

Viacom, DirecTV fight: Protracted battle possible

This week's blackout has already prompted a flood of online venting from frustrated DirecTV customers, but the stakes will rise on Monday. That's when two of Viacom's most popular shows -- "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" -- return from vacation and start airing fresh episodes.

Viacom usually streams those episodes on its website just a few hours after they air, allowing anyone -- even those without a pay-TV subscription -- to watch them for free. This week, however, it yanked of its most popular streams offline after DirecTV pointed out that its blacked-out customers could go watch Viacom shows on the Web.

"We've temporarily slimmed down our offerings, as DirecTV markets them as an alternative to having our networks," a Viacom spokesman told CNNMoney. "The online content is intended to serve as a complimentary marketing tool for our partners."

According to the article you quoted it's also available if you have Amazon Prime. Thing is, DirecTV is eventually going to end up paying so they might as well just give in now.

And we are too damned stupid or cheap to setup authentication so we will screw everybody.

Amazon Instant Video is one of the benefits of Amazon Prime. The other major benefit being free 2nd day shipping.

Yea, and both are great. :)

Edit: Just checked and Daily Show isn't part of the free streaming with Prime. :(
Edit Edit: But it is available on FREE HULU (in SD). :)

No it isn't. Prime only provides *some* programming free. Most is still pay.

Call a DISH Network installer and you MIGHT see it this week. (Depending on how quick you can get an install date).

Is the conflict going to be resolved? Who knows... I still think it will be, but maybe not this week.

Viacom will eventually have to allow online viewing again, as right now they are screwing everyone that has another carrier as well. As soon as that happens, you can catch up on the episodes.

But if it is REALLY REALLY important THIS week..... well, watch at a friend with Dish or Cable, or make the switch yourself.
