Just got a notice on my laptop that Windows Media Player detected my DTV DVR. It asks if I want the device to play content from Windows Media Player Library. What is this feature and what will it do for me. How is it working?

Media share..
You can play music, photos, and some videos from your computer on your DVR..
If you hit menu on your remote you will see "Music, Photos & More"

What this means is now you can share from your laptop to the DVR. You still can't share from the DVR to your laptop. Only the DirecTV2PC will allow you to stream from a DVR.
