Trying to waive the $5 DVR service fee through my broadband account and wanted to use the DishOnline features as well.
I just purchased a Wireless Bridge (D-Link DWL-G820) from Buy.com, I opened it and thought it was easy to hookup, plugged into my computer, configured it with my WPA-PSK and all of that junk, disconnected and plugged into my VIP 722 and tested it and called out works fine. Worked fine for 2 days.
Today I was trying to browse the DishOnline content, when I got they error message you must be connected to a broadband account, and so on. So I went to broadband menu and clicked the one that refreshes the IP address it connects and about one minute later it drops the connection. I checked all of the settings, I even went as far as to make my own Cat5 cable instead of using the one that came with it. I called Dish and talked to 4 different people, they finally put at the head of the tech department and she didn't even know what a Wireless Bridge, and after I explained it to her, she states so you use Wild Blue, after I stated several times that I use my local DSL service.
I didn't know if others have had similar problems, it is probably something stupid, not to mention, my other problem with another rec.
