I have a 1000.4 WA dish. The installer connected 3 of the 4 cables from the LNB but left one unconnected. I looked at the LNB yesterday but there was no labeling on the LNB to differentiate between the 3rd output and the 4th input. I have a suspicion that the installer used the input as the 3rd wire.

Is it all working? Also I would call the installer back and ask for that 4th port to be terminated or at least capped off to prevent water getting there.

If you only have a 622 then you only need 2 inputs and if he used a separator, you only need one coax from the Dish 1000.4 going to a separator at your 622. I have two 722s and the installer only needed 2 coax cables from the Dish 1000 to connect these two receivers using separators.

I guess a little clarification is needed. The install was done over a year ago. At the time I was converted from a "split arc" configuration to WA. I kept my 61.5 dish but the installer did not hook it up. There is a dual cable running to the static discharge/ground point. Only one cable was needed at the time. Now I need the other cable active. I used to do all my own installations. I only accepted the professional installation / dish upgrade because I was getting it done free.

After trying several times to get a second receiver to work off the unused side I took the LNB apart to see what was hooked up. Three of the four ports had a cable running from it, but there was no labeling as to which port was the 4th LNB input. The installer may have thought that I would want the 61.5 hooked up at a future time and put the input on the second cable of the dual cable that was run underground from the dish to the ground point.

What I'm looking for is a picture of the LNB with the ports identified, so I can remove the cable from the 4th input and put it on the 3rd output.

After looking at the links above, it appears that the input is the port on the right (although the pictures identify the other ports as separate orbital outputs when all 3 should be a switch output). So the pictures may be for an older 1000.2 rather than a 1000.4 WA. Just out of curiosity, did the 1000.2 need an external switch?

(FYI: I removed my signature as it is misleading at this time)

You are correct, the input is the port all the way to the right. The 1000.2 also had an internal switch. The labeling you found is if you connect a DPP44 switch to a 1000.2/.4 LNB it is showing you which port will output which orbital. With no other switch attached all 3 ports operate on the internal switch.
