Well, I was just using the headline they used on their website... and by 'Mid-South', I think they mean Eastern Arkansas, North Mississippi, West Tennessee....leww37334 said:Hmmm I think Nashville did this a while back.....

I was just curious about the digital switch with Memphis Channels. I currently live in Jonesboro and am able to pick up Channel 24, 30, and some times Channel 3 in DT, and was wondering if any of these channels were planning on strengthening their signals before Feb 17?!? Thanks for your responses, and have a good day.AirRocker said:It's about time... :sure:
And the DVR scheduler comes in handy again...

As I stated, West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and Eastern Arkansas is known as the "The Mid South"... This isn't a term that WMC made up... Everybody in this area uses that expression...Jaspear said:So if Nashville and Memphis are in the Mid-South, what would be in the North-South? Obviously, New Orleans and Miami would be in the South-South, but would Birmingham and Atlanta be too?
I this case, I think "Mid-South" is the PR writer's over inflated ego term for "Memphis".
I have my own name, and you won't find it in wiki.... :lol:AirRocker said:As I stated, West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and Eastern Arkansas is known as the "The Mid South"... This isn't a term that WMC made up... Everybody in this area uses that expression...

Regardless of who made it up, it is just that, made up. They're just trying to catch up having been scooped once again by Nashville.AirRocker said:As I stated, West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and Eastern Arkansas is known as the "The Mid South"... Kinda like how Nas Vegas is made up? Get off it. I didn't realize this was a competition.Jon J said:Regardless of who made it up, it is just that, made up. They're just trying to catch up having been scooped once again by Nashville.
I haven't heard anything about them doing that. About all I can tell you is WMC is moving from digital 52 to 5 and WHBQ is moving from 53 to 13.Dan9 said:I was just curious about the digital switch with Memphis Channels. Made up or not, this isn't some new phrase. This has been known as the Mid South area long before I was was born and I'm in my 40s.Jon J said:Regardless of who made it up, it is just that, made up. They're just trying to catch up having been scooped once again by Nashville.
WMC-DT is currently at 50% of their licensed power for DT. Next February they will be going to full power when they do the frequency shuffle and turn off their analog.Dan9 said:I was just curious about the digital switch with Memphis Channels. The Fords in charge?, Your obviously forgetting about one of Memphis' three kings.Jon J said:Why so defensive, Memphites? The Fords are still in charge so everything will be fine, eventually, once they all finish their terms.
I think we all benefit from Memphis' preference to be associated with Arkansas and Mississippi.
Now, can someone please sound the steamboat whistle?
