I am going away from home for a month. My question is should I completely unplug my Dish Network receivers or should I leave them plugged in and just turned off with the remote.

When I go on vacation, I just unplug everything. It's safer that way in case there is a thunderstorm or electrical problem.
I agree - definitely unplug everything (power and coax in). Keep in mind, though, that when you get back, you may have to call Dish to get them to re-authorize your receivers, as a receiver can lose its authorization if left out of the stream for an extended period of time.
Don't forget to unplug your stereo, TV, washer, dryer, refrigerator, microwave, and security system. ;)

When I went away I unplugged everything in my room except for my VCR and 501
Since you are leaving for a month, disconnect all non-essential electrical devices and shut off water heater if it is gas-fired.
Just leave everything plugged into good surge protectors, write down all your serial numbers and make sure your homeowners' insurance is up to date.
