I have been watching the Olympics and the sound pops or the Pic breaks up every min or so. Anybody else having this problem?
I live in Beaver Falls, PA and also get WPXI as my local NBC affiliate. I have also seen my picture break up periodically. Usually I see a green flash across part of my TV screen. I have also had the audio dropout problem as well.

No issues on WGAL in Lancaster, so it must be a local issue.

Are you seeing the issue on the D* HD feed or OTA or both?

You're not alone - I have the exact same problem. It's certainly not a dish aiming issue even though that's exactly what the symptoms would lead you to believe, since my signal strengths range from very good to excellent - 90+ for just about all ConUS Ka transponders and many of the Ka spot-beam transponders also in the 90's, one of which the Pittsburgh LiL's presumably live on...

Exact same thing with WPXI in both HD and SD. The Pittsburgh HD LIL leaves much to be desired. Whatever is being used to connect those stations to DirecTV needs re-avaluated.

My OTA reception (on rabbit ears) is never as bad as the DirecTV feed for one station I do get from Pittsburgh-WTAE. I think I'll just put up a larger antenna the get all the local channels.

I was having this same problem all weekend. KDKA wasn't much better with the PGA Championship this weekend.

Also, it looks like all the Pittsburgh local stations are out on the HD channels right now.

Here in Louisville the NBC station WAVE cannot receive HD from the Burbank feed so when it switched from New York to Burbank yesterday we went to SD for the rest of the night. This is not the first time this has happened just incompetent locals who keep having the same problems and do not fix them. Thank you D for NBC Olympic VOD.

All my local Pittsburgh HD channels are out now as well. I'm happy to see the problem isn't just with me. I'm pretty sure they all went out at 12:25 PM becuase I was tuned to KDKA Channel 2 and had a recording starting at that time. I was starting to think that the start of that recording some how knocked out the reception of the HD channels to my receivers because it seemed to coincidental to be a system outage. Maybe Directv is trying to fix the problem.

Let's hope so.

I'm having the exact same problems with the signal breaking up and the audio being garbled.

I'm glad I read this thread today. I was assuming my problem was a tree. It didn't look like it could be possible but I was prepared to trim some upper branches today after work because this problem acts just like interference.

Maybe there's a tree growing in front of the dish where DirecTV gathers the Pittsburgh signals.

The last five minutes of the NBC Nightly News on WPXI was nothing but crackles and pops. Video was fine, but useless sound.

I just got off the phone with *TV and they told me there is a known issue with locals and they are working on it but have no idea when it will be fixed. I highly suggest everyone who is affected call so *TV has an idea just how large an issue this is. It figures it would be right in the middle of the olympics of course.

Before I call call and complain, does anyone in the Pittsburgh have their HD locals (from D*) and has the CSRs told anyone anything?

Well I thought it was working and my locals were back but now it appears to be working sporadically. It seems *TV is going to try and ruin my olympic experience one way or another. At least they are broadcast on more than just locals.
