i m not so sure because in the locals section of their site they used to list wsbk 38 on channel 236 but now it shows 8775 leading me to think they are moving it to 38 and discontinue the 236 position now 8775 has the same feed as boston dma as 236 but wgn america 9436 and wgn cw 9 are two different channels meaning no 8000 something for non chicago viewers due to syndex jan 1st 1990 at one time you used to get wwor 9 thru cable outside the tri state area for those that held on to wwor cable had an emi service feed ie run emergency in lieu of ricky lake that the secaucus channel 9 used to run but jan 1 1997 some systems got animal planet in its place others told customers to pick a station of interest but i digress the point is no more wwor on cable except for the immediate viewing area

Boston's local position is 8775 (I have had it there for years) and it is indeed mapped at 236. It is not being moved. WGN America's HD feed is 9436 and is mapped to 239, while the sd feed resided at 239 only. I still have WWOR at 8105 and 238 so I'm not sure what the last post means.

I see what you mean. WSBK Superstation is still mapped down to 38. They fixed it on Engineers' receivers, but not subscribers' receivers. They updated 61.5 west but not 119 west.

I have to remember they have two of most everything now with EA being up there. :)

Hmmm ... I was so happy to see the rest of the mapdown SuperStations leave that I didn't notice 38-00 was still hanging around. :)

this applies partly to recieving programming from the 61.5 slot due to hd channels/locals

For a short time I had a 942 that was a refurb replacement for a 921. It had the Providence RI locals burned into the guide (in red, I could not see the programs). Tech support could not get these channels out. They offered me another receiver but I declined. They sent me a 622 anyway (with the HD enabling fee waved) and now I'm a happy camper.

Had there been a local in my market on any of those channel numbers they would not map-down correctly, as the Providence channel numbers took precidence over anything else.

That experience leads me to make the following presumption: A superstation should not map down to it's OTA channel due to the fact that another market may have that same OTA channel and the superstation map-down would get in the way of the local channel mapping-down.
