We have The Daily Show (Comedy Central HD) set up to record first run episodes on two of our four HD DVRs, 11:00 to 11:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. Tonight at 11:15 I noticed that the record light wasn't on on one of the two DVRs. I opened the Playlist and saw that it wasn't being recorded on the other DVR either. I opened the Series Manager, and tonight's episode was scheduled on both DVRs for the 1:00 am repeat slot, instead of the 11:00 pm first-run slot. Every other day this week, it's scheduled to record at 11:00 pm. Yes, tonight's show (first-run) was running as normal from 11:00 to 11:30 on Comedy Central. So why did the DVRs, for this one night, skip the first-run showing at 11:00 pm and instead schedule themselves for 1:00 am? The program guide info. was all correct, so I can't see how that could be a problem. And, there were no conflicts that might have prompted the DVRs to switch to the later showing.

I have always had mine set up for manual record 11-12 mon-fri by channel 249. Comedy Central guide data is very unreliable. I am surprised you have been this fortunate with the show as long as you have.

Yeah, they record repeats all the time even though I have them set to first-run only, but I've never before had them miss a first-run show and instead record the first available repeat two hours later.

Mine did this as well. No conflicting recordings were scheduled at the time.

I agree that the guide data is awful (this is the only channel that seems to have recurring issues), but this is the first time that I can recall seeing this.

Both of my HD DVRs (HR20 and HR34) set to record the from Comedy Central HD channels recorded the later showing, but my other HR20 that records from the SD channel recorded the first earlier showing. Must have been a glitch in the Guide Data for the HD description.

I no longer record anything on the comedy channel or the speed channed using normal series links, I set up manual recordings for anything I want to watch on those channels. The guide data they provide is terrible and I am positive there are shows that I would watch on those channels but don't because it's not worth the hassle.

As I mentioned before, I've experienced guide problems with Comedy Central myself, but only with differentiating between first runs and repeats. With the particular problem that prompted me to start this thread, from what I could see with my own two eyes, there was no problem with the guide that would have prompted the DVRs to skip the first run show at 11:00 pm and instead record the first available repeat two hours later.

Someone here posted this recommendation for the Daily Show a while back and I've been using it with success ever since: Keyword search "stewart NNOT slant CCHAN 249"
