OK, first, I had a powered multiswitch, but the installer walked off with it. Sine, technically he was sopposed to ake the 10-250, I guess I shouldn't complain. I've seen all the talk about powered multiswitches. The one it came with is about 40 feet from the satelite, and another 30 feet from there to the 20-700. Should I bother with a powered multiswitch, and if so, does it matter which one I get? Is therre something technical about them that I should look for?

Second, regarding over signal quality. Today, the Browns/Squeelers game on CBS in CMH (OH! IO!) is completely unwatchable on the HR20-700, but via OTA on my HR10-250, looks fine. Other channels look OK, so do I complain to the local affiliate, or D* or CBS (who deserves an earful for broadcasting NFL games in SD anyway)?

After watching on the HR10-250 for an hour, did a red button reset of the HR20, my first ever. Now, everything is fixed. Is it more likely to be the erset, or did the signal somehow improve in the last hour?

Plus, still would like answers to the multiswitch ? anyway.

Your feedline is not all that long, so you shouldn't require a powered multiswitch.
My line is over 100 feet and works fine, but I am probably near the limit.

No idea on the picture quality issue. I don't recall any posts about rebooting causing a PQ improvement, but that's not to say it can't happen.
