Now I'm getting this random error occasionally when using the channel up/down function with my remote or clicking on a channel with the Guide. I rebooted and it didn't help. I miss my DirecTV (cries into the couch cushion)
Yep, I've said the same thing about the 12 hour advance using the ffw button. I'd have to say the many people also have no idea that you can create a custom channel list, but it's only possible using the YTTV app on a smart device or computer and not with the Firestick app. Then you have to navigate to the guide, click the 3 lines icon at the top and choose custom instead of default. That is a perfect example of making the app complicated for non technology folks. The YTTV interface does need some work. The channel guide in particular is cumbersome to navigate. They need to provide a way to advance 12 hours at a time to see what's on a channel a few days ahead. If it's Monday and you want to see what's playing on a particular channel on Saturday, you have to arrow over one program at a time.
I agree, I wish you were allowed to choose from the classic Library or the new and not improved Library. Hopefully the YTTV engineers read my response on the YTTV Reddit page but I'm not holding my breath. I believe we as subscribers are the beta testers. Now to watch any content in the Library, I have to navigate through a maze of stupidity just to watch something.Yup the new library interface is as bad as it could get - no idea what is what. I wish there were a way to go back. Maybe Google will read comments and do something. How do you design something that is so bad and release it to the world - do they have test groups that report.
If I had a choice at this point it would not be YTTV - I suspect this horrible interface is coming to other sections
Yes the Android app sucks ass. I still haven't figured out how to advance past what's presently shown on the guide yet on my phone and I use it more than my laptop to make adjustments on my YTTV account. The live TV guide in the Android app is even worse than the TV app. The TV app at least allows you to arrow to the right to see upcoming programs, but I don't see any way to do that on the Android app that runs on my tablet.
Maybe you got an update from YTTV. They've been active lately on updates. I feel we're just TV guinea pigs.today it does tell you when so someone must have??
I have several ATV, 4K and standard. I think we're somewhat insulated from a lot of the "sync" and performance issues as the ATV platform is over provisioned for just "streaming" as it was designed to run games, too. Its why people who try and rely on "Smart TV" apps get substandard (sometimes 4+ year old CPU revisions that can't handle any updates and just crumble as soon as an app maker asks it to decode H265 vs H264, etc. )Does anyone that has this update run on an Apple TV 4K? I haven't received this guide update, yet, and everything appears to be up to date.
I did read where this is being rolled out to batches of users, instead of device-specific. This Library layout hasn't been deployed to our account yet, so I'll be eager to see how my wife responds when we receive it.As for YTTV, we got a lot of the beta features without much performance complaint (4 screen sports, etc) that I anecdotally recall others voicing. IMO, I think ATV is probably one of the core developed applications YTTV looks at first before going down the list and coding for others.

I simply don't think you're able to do this, regardless of device. I can't scroll ahead on my iPhone in the Live Guide, either. On my iPad's Live Guide, it shows what is playing, and what the next scheduled program is. But it can't go beyond that.Yes the Android app sucks ass. I still haven't figured out how to advance past what's presently shown on the guide yet on my phone and I use it more than my laptop to make adjustments on my YTTV account.
After 2 weeks, I still dislike the new Library interface. The horizontal tabs are dumb as Owl ****. The default should always be Series and Movies and then in alphabetical order, not Recently Recorded and in random order. One thing that I learned from a poster on YTTV Reddit, instead of using the back arrow to exit out of the Guide when scrolling, you can hit the play button twice on your remote to exit. I find many times when I use the back arrow to exit the guide, I sometimes hit it twice and end up back at the beginning of the guide, the home page or occasionally exiting the app all together. The double tap play action does nothing else that I've seen except exit. I'm not sure why YTTV can't map the ≡ button on the remote to exit or access the Guide instead of having it disabled. One thing that I noticed after the update was the picture quality improved overall on my OLED Sony TV.All of the feedback provided with those that did receive this update must have resonated with them from pushing it out to anyone else. I've still yet to receive these changes, and I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, just to see if that would push it through. For those that do have it, are you at least becoming somewhat familiar with how it works now?
