I have 4 lines running to my two HR20's straight into the boxes. It seems that perhaps one of the lines is bad because the second tuner on one box is not reading. Could I use a zinwell switch instead of having to run another line out to the dish? I am looking for the easiest and not necessarily the cheapest solution.

Yes, the switch needs all 4 lines from the dish, no less.

Try swapping the satellite inputs on the "bad" DVR. See if the problem moves to the other tuner. If the problem stays on the same tuner, then you know it's a DVR problem. If it moves to the other tuner, then something is wrong with the coax cable, a connector, or multiswitch/dish output feeding that cable.

If this happens, check the connections at the grounding block. That's usually where mine fail.

I powered off the unit, disconnected the cables, pressed red reset, unplugged, reconnected the cables, plugged it in and re-powered. Thans fo the info on the Zinwell guys- it makes sense to me now.
