can I use my HR21 USB port to power a fan?

I would like to hook up an external fan to the back of my HR21. I am looking at a computer-type USB powered fan. Does anyone know if the HR21 USB port will power a fan? I would rather figure this out before I buy a fan.

Yes...it can be used.

I have a USB powered laptop cooling fan plugged in and working 24/7 on one of my 3 HD DVRs.

I had one for about 18 months on my HR20. It also charged my personal music player pretty well.

Pretty sure. It sends power through the USB cable, so it'll work just fine if your iPod uses a USB. Then again, what else could it use?

Er, except for the early ones that used Firewire cables. But they don't count =p
