If I were to replace DIRECTV with DISH could the DISH installer use the DIRECTV dish mount and would they? I really prefer to not have a second satellite dish mounted on the house.

IIRC the pole diameters are different, but there may be adapters.
Otherwise, the DirecTV unit may be removed, all but the foot, and a second foot compatible with the Dish reflector assembly installed.

I have a pole mount in my yard and the switch was old reflector off, dish reflector on and pointed with new cables.
I'd do a pole mount again in a heartbeat. I painted the pole green to match the shrubs around it, next year I may turn the reflector into camo
plus snow is never an issue.
