Recording a ppv event ???

In the past (possibly 10 years ago) I was able to record a PPV event and watch it anytime later.

Now when I go to watch the recording I get an error message . Something about the program ended

Oddly I am able to FF through the event but cannot press play. If I press play the error message comes back

When did this start ?

I get that message after my rental period expired and I attempt to watch it on my C41W while I forgot the rental period expired. Usually the HR44 or HR24 will prompt me to purchase the movie again to watch the recording.

The clients are a bit weird at times. They don't take too kindly to certain error messages. The C41Ws for instance like to display OSD 721 when something is blacked out.

I think that's been done away with for a number of years, now.

However, I do recall the days where paying for a PPV once would allow those with DVRs to view them anytime afterwards (like any other recording).
